Adaptogenic Herbs For Pre & Post Menopausal Women

I have received a positive response from my last blog about my journey with perimenopause and soy isoflavones in helping me balance out my low estrogen levels, however, what if you are struggling with estrogen dominance, bone loss, and high blood pressure, along with hormones that are all over the place and not sure which once are out of balance? Your doctor can do tests but some say the tests are not reliable. This is where adaptogenic herbs and supplements may benefit some women. I included a list below.

Basically, an adaptogenic herb or supplement is said to be beneficial because it balances what the body is lacking. Think of adaptogenic herbs as a support to your own body's adrenal health. It won't knock you "out of balance" because it supports what your endocrine system may need in order to balance out your hormone health. Our endocrine system is responsible for keeping hormones in homeostasis (perfect balance). Think of adaptogens as supporting the "support centers".  

There's a promising study on the use of Maca as an adaptogenic (fancy word for having the effect of balancing all hormones as the body needs) support for hormones. The body simply takes what it needs and the remaining overflow is naturally eliminated.
